The Prince George COVID-19 vaccine clinic is moving to a new location in Parkwood Place Shopping Centre merging with the current COVID-19 testing location to form the “Prince George COVID-19 Testing and Immunization Centre.
Currently, COVID-19 immunizations are taking place at the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre but as of Friday April 1, the new location will be #175-1600 15th Ave which is in Parkwood Place, near the Cineplex theatre.
Northern Health says combining the testing and immunization services in one location will allow for both COVID-19 testing, and COVID-19 vaccine appointments to be offered seven days a week.
Hours of Operation for COVID-19 Testing: 8:30am -11:45am
Hours of Operation for COVID-19 vaccines: 12:35pm -3:35pm
Appointments are required for testing but drop-ins will be welcome for vaccinations, however, space is limited.
Eligible individuals who are registered with the Get Vaccinated system will see a list of participating pharmacies or Northern Health vaccine clinics, when they receive their invitation to book a vaccine appointment.
Northern Health also notes that B.C. pharmacies are playing an even bigger role in delivering vaccines and are now the primary option for immunization for people age 12 and older.
Community pharmacies in twelve northern communities are offering both the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, and will be providing the Novavax vaccine when available in B.C.
For immunizations for children five to 11 years of age, and those in communities without a pharmacy offering vaccines for those age 12 and older, Northern Health will continue to offer COVID-19 vaccine appointments at regularly scheduled clinics.
Clinics will continue to be carefully planned based on vaccine registrations and appointment bookings.
The Northern Health website is the most up to date source for information on current clinic schedules and locations.
