For a full explanation of the new cancer centre and its programs, the public is invited to meet with the leader of the project.
Pam Tobin is the Clinical Project Lead for the program management office of the Northern Cancer Control Strategy. She is the special guest speaker at the next installment of the Railway and Forestry Museum Lecture Series. Her appearance is set for May 11 at the museum at 6:30 p.m.
"Ms. Tobin will provide an overview of the NCCS, discuss the various components of the strategy and provide information on how the NCCS will provide cancer services closer to home for the northern population," said Ranjit Gill, executive director of the museum.
"As a key component of this strategy, a new regional cancer centre, the BC Cancer Agency Centre for the North, will be built in Prince George. The strategy also addresses the full spectrum of cancer care and is designed to enhance and augment existing Northern Health programs already in place in northern B.C."
Admission to the lecture is free with a donation to the Salvation Army Food Bank.
