The nomination deadline for a double grand celebration of residential and commercial construction in northern B.C. is fast
approaching.
March 30 is the date set for nominations to be sent in for the Northern Building Awards, set for April 26 at the Ramada Hotel in Prince George.
It is a joint celebration sponsored by the Canadian Home Builders' Association - Northern BC (CHBA-NBC), the Commercial Council of the B.C. Northern Real Estate Board (BCNREB), and the B.C. Construction Association North (BCCA-North), which will celebrate the best in building over the last two years.
The CHBA-NBC portion of the awards is for residential construction, modelled after the province-wide Georgie Awards.
The BCNREB and BCCA-North portion is for commercial and
industrial construction.
Award nominations will be accepted from the region between 100 Mile House and Prince George, and Prince Rupert to Fort St. John.
Fortis BC and the Prince George Citizen are also sponsoring the awards ceremony, which promises to be a night to remember that will also serve to kick off the annual CHBA-NBC trade show the next day.
There are more than two dozen CHBA-NBC award classifications, while there will be at least nine commercial categories: mixed use, community seniors housing, multi-family, community institution, commercial-retail, industrial, commercial reno-restoration, office, hospitality, affordable housing and commercial green-energy efficiency.
There will also be a judge's choice award for best of show.
