The Ministry of Children and Family Development has issued a call for nominations for this year's child care awards of excellence.
The awards recognize the exceptional contributions made regionally by early childhood educators and licensed family child-care providers across British Columbia.
This year, new categories have been included to recognize innovation and municipalities and regional districts who've played a role in developing child-care initiatives for their communities.
Nominations are also being accepted in the general category (one award per ministry region) and aboriginal, including the Lenora Pritchard Award of Excellence.
The deadline for submissions is March 11 and the winners will be announced in May.
