Everyone appears to be okay following an incident on Highway 97 Tuesday night (Jan. 5) involving a Northern Health Connections bus.

According to the authority, the driver and their lone passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a single-vehicle collision 15 km north of Quesnel around 5:45 p.m. yesterday as the bus was making its way from Prince George.

Weather is believed to be a factor in the incident and the driver was sent to GR Baker Memorial Hospital to receive care.

Northern Health says it doesn't expect any service to be impacted moving forward stemming from the crash and plans are being made to recover the vehicle today (Jan. 6).

The next scheduled Prince George-to-Quesnel route is currently scheduled for Jan. 12.

An investigation into the full cause of the incident is still ongoing.
