Provincial health officials reported no new cases of novel coronavirus in Northern Health region on Tuesday as the running count held steady at 65.

As of Monday, there was one active case in Northern Health and the person was not in hospital, according to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control.

Province wide, there were 11 new cases offset by 21 recoveries leaving 172 active cases. No deaths were reported for the fourth day in a row.

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry is scheduled to give an update on modeling on Monday that could pave the way for further easing of restrictions - but gatherings of more than 50 people will remain out of the question, she said Tuesday.

"There is no thought for changing the 50 number for a whole variety of reasons but most of which is because when we have people inside in a small space together, that's a riskier environment especially over a period of time and it's at the capacity of how we can effectively and efficiently contact trace when we have people in those environments," Henry said.

The next report from the BCCDC will be released on Thursday.
