Nobody was injured in a house fire in the 4000 block of Chestnut Drive on Friday afternoon.
Prince George fire fighters were called to the scene just before 1:30 p.m. on Friday, assistant fire chief Greg Wilkins said in a press release. When fire fighters arrived they found extensive flames and smoke coming from the carport and roof of the house.
The lone resident was outside the home and uninjured.
Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, but damage to the house was extensive -estimated at more than $100,000.
Fifteen fire fighters from three fire halls were involved in battling the blaze, and were on the scene for three hours.
An investigation was underway as of press time, but early indications suggest the cause of the fire was accidental.
