After a spike in calls requesting open burning permits in Prince George, the city is reminding residents that's not allowed in city limits.
The bylaw covers burning yard and garden waste, land clearing debris, or any other material. It also includes setting fire to any of the above materials in a container.
Land clearing debris is any organic material cleared from land in the process of preparing for development, agriculture, silviculture, highway construction, utility installation.
The city said residents should call the city's bylaw enforcement division at 250.561.7622 if they see anyone disregard the rules in their neighbourhood.
