I am writing on behalf of the residents of North Meadows subdivision. The weekend is once again here and the buzz is constant.
The dirt bikes are running up the hill adjacent to Foothills Boulevard. We live within city limits and deserve the right to enjoy quiet. Over and over again they tackle the hill and some of their bikes don't make it up the run but they keep trying. There is a pipeline that also runs adjacent to the same road and they are traveling over it. We have had to put out extra tax money to repair it from all the damage caused by these dirt bikes. There is a bylaw to prohibit these bikes from being in the neighbourhood.
It is constantly being reported to City hall, the bylaw enforcement department, and RCMP. The city posted signs saying no motorized vehicles are allowed in the area past the posted signs. Calls are ignored and no one addresses the bylaw. Complaint calls are made and one department will tell you to call another and on it goes. Please, City Hall, find someone on your staff that will address this issue as it very much is like talking to a blank wall.
We pay our taxes and deserve the services. My suggestion would be to put a cement barrier at the bottom of the hill and block it off. Easy solution.
