A trio of Prince George organizations are teaming up to offer some COVID-safe family fun on New Year's Eve.
Ness Lake Bible Camp, Northern Lights Estate Winery and Pandemic Friendly Entertainment – the group that organized the Candy Cruise Prince George on Halloween – will be hosting four drive-in trivia events at the winery's parking lot on Thursday night.
"One of our big motivations is to give families and kids something to do during this second lock down" Ness Lake Bible Camp program director Dayna Penson said in a press release. "We helped run drive-in trivia last spring and saw the impact it had. Getting out of the house and having the kids entertained for an hour seems to really help some families."
Tickets are $5 per vehicle – only members of the same household are allowed in each vehicle – and the proceeds will support local charities. Information on how to buy a ticket can be found online at: www.facebook.com/100959708293157/posts/255750499480743/?d=n NEW YEARS EVE TRIVIA NIGHTS!.
Each trivia session has a theme, and will include music and trivia questions. The Disney trivia event will run from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.; Harry Potter trivia will go from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; a third session will be based on The Office TV series, and runs form 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.; with a final session from 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. focusing on the TV sitcom Friends.
The three groups teamed up, after each had to cancel events planned this winter – the Ness Lake Bible Camp Polar Bear Dip, Northern Lights Estate's Light Up the Orchard, and Pandemic Friendly Entertainment's planned Santa Cruise.
"After seeing the thousands of people who came out for Candy Cruise it reminded me that we are not done yet. Until all restrictions are lifted and businesses are able to fill the needs for entertainment then everyone still needs to keep working together to put new ideas into motion," Pandemic Friendly Entertainment's Dave Horton said in a press release. "I am hoping that there won't be need for these kinds of events next New Years Eve."
