Cindy Heitman is the new superintendent of School District 57, it was announced Friday.
The Board of Education chair Sharel Warrington said it is important to recognize the importance of collaboration, consistency and stability in district leadership, in a recent news release about the newly-apppointed Heitman.
“Since taking on the acting superintendent role last year, Ms. Heitman has led the district with integrity and commitment through the development of a new strategic plan with a focus on equity, inclusion and diversity, and worked to implement the recommendations from the SD57 Special Advisors report,” Warrington said. “As acting superintendent she has focused on building collaborative relationships with rights holders, partners and stakeholders and worked to ensure the district is meeting the needs of all students through a global pandemic while staying focused on student achievement.”
