Northern Health has launched a new website to draw health-care talent to Northern B.C.
Found at Careers.northernhealth.ca, the site not only provides a "one-stop shop" of career opportunities for doctors, nurses and allied health care professionals but gives interested job seekers a chance to explore the region's communities.
A key element of the rebranding is the introduction of two new "avatars" - characters that will be the new face of marketing efforts, specifically aimed at engaging new grads. Designed by Prince George artist Rebecca Conway, they will be depicted in the variety of workplace and lifestyle settings available to professionals who join the Northern Health team.
"We hope these characters will help to show how progressive Northern Health is as an organization," said Northern Health's regional manager of recruitment, Birgit LeBlanc. "A younger audience will be able to relate to them and it will be easier and fun for people to identify with them and the activities they'll be featured doing."
Other resources at the site include:
- Information on working for Northern Health, including employment benefits, incentives and career growth opportunities
- Testimonials from current Northern Health employees in a variety of fields, speaking firsthand about their experiences
- Information on northern living; individual community profiles, and lifestyle and recreational opportunities
- Details on the employed student nurse, and new graduate programs
- Resources to help applicants get started, including relocation guides and information for international health professionals
- Links to learn about and follow Northern Health on various social media platforms
