Prince George RCMP are looking to be in their new digs by the end of next month, according to the latest update from city hall.
The process of moving into the new 400-block Victoria Street building is scheduled to begin April 22 and be completed by April 27, city spokesperson Mike Kellett said Monday.
That's about three weeks sooner than the May long weekend date Prince George RCMP were previously looking at.
The $38.95-million, 63,636-square-foot detachment will replace the Prince George RCMP's current home at 10th and Brunswick. That building is 32,776 square feet in size and was built in 1972.
The new home was originally slated to open in late 2013 or early 2014, but the date was then pushed back again from January to the end of February and then to late May before the latest news.
