A Victoria-based lawyer who has represented clients in northern B.C. has been appointed a provincial court judge.
Barbara Flewelling, who practices personal injury law, was named to the post Thursday.
According to her website, lawyers working at Flewelling law regularly travel to northern B.C. and the Interior to represent clients.
Outside of her professional life, she has helped with the organization of performances by the Welsh Men's Choir, the Courtenay Chamber Music Society and the Prince George Symphony, according to a Ministry of Justice press release.
She will be assigned to Campbell River, the office of the provincial court's chief judge confirmed.
