Prince George City Hall 6
Three first-time city councillors, and one incumbent, will sit on the city's Standing Committee on Finance and Audit.

There will be fresh eyes watching over the City of Prince George’s finances, following Monday night’s city council meeting.

Mayor Simon Yu appointed first-time councillors Tim Bennett, Trudy Klassen and Ron Polillo to the city’s Standing Committee on Finance and Audit, along with incumbent Coun. Cori Ramsay. The committee’s role is to review and make recommendations to city council regarding budgets, financial statements, property tax rates, fees and other financial matters.

Yu appointed incumbent councillors Garth Frizzell, Kyle Sampson, Susan Scott and Brian Skakun to the city’s Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs.

All members of city council, including Yu, are ex-officio members of both committees, and may attend the meetings but not vote.

City council also appointed members of council to serve on a number of external boards.

Yu will serve on the Prince George Community Foundation board and Northern Development Initiative Trust’s Prince George regional advisory committee.

Frizzell will sit on the Prince George Public Library board, and serve as Yu’s alternate to NDIT.

Scott and Skakun will act as liaisons to the Prince George Council of Seniors.

Klassen will represent the city on the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako Regional Transit Service Committee and Mount Milligan Community Sustainability Committee.

And Polillo will represent the city on the Canadian Urban Transit Association’s transit board members committee.
