Changes to the provincial regulations that govern commercial truck weight limits that now allow larger mining loads helped secure ore transport from a Yukon mine to a northern B.C. port.
The B.C. government announcement was made Friday at the Minerals North conference.
The changes level the playing field between British Columbia and the Yukon, which already has bulk hauling rules, helping win the business away from an alternate port destination in Alaska.
