Ice jamming on the Nechako River has been observed and the City of Prince George is monitoring the situation. Although it has been a somewhat mild winter, with the extremely cold temperatures over the past week, ice jamming is occurring.
The Nechako River level has increased slightly over the past 24 hours and is now being monitored on a regular basis by city staff.
Residents in the area have been advised that ice jamming is occurring.
