Shirley Bond's new ministry has three responsibilities, so it's fitting that opposition leader Adrian Dix has named different critics for jobs, tourism and skills training.
Bond, who represents Prince George-Valemont, can expect to square off against Surrey-Newton MLA Harry Bains on the jobs portion of her file. When it comes to tourism, Bond will debate Lana Popham (Saanich South) and when it comes to skills training she will find Doug Routley (Nanaimo-North Cowichan) accross the aisle.
Nechako Lakes MLA John Rustad, who was elevated to cabinet after the election and has taken on the aboriginal relations and reconciliation file, will be up against fellow northerner Doug Donaldson (Stikine).
Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development Coralee Oakes will also have a couple of NDP shadow ministers on her files. Selina Robinson (Coquitlam-Maillardville) is responsible for local governments and sports, while Popham has culture as part of her critic duties. Oakes, who represents Cariboo North, cracked cabinet as a rookie.
