Ava Maria and Mother Maria's Market are accepting donations of nutritious food to support local food banks as part of a national food drive campaign.
Health First Network's Live Healthy, Give Healthy program is in support of Every Plate Full, Canada's biggest food drive, that helps bring attention to food banks during the slow-donation season of summer when demand remains the same throughout the year.
The campaign goes until June 9.
Ideal items feature high nutritional content, including whole grains, canned proteins, dairy alternatives, and low and no sodium canned vegetables. Food donations can be made at Ava Maria and Mother Maria's Market. Monetary donations can be made online at livehealthygivehealthy.com.
