The procession of New Democratic Party leadership hopefuls continues tomorrow morning.
One of the contest's two female candidates, Toronto-area MP Peggy Nash, stops in Prince George as part of a tour through the B.C. Interior that takes her through Kamloops, Vernon and Kelowna.
Nash will be available for a meet and greet at Books and Company on Monday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
"I look forward to hearing the concerns of the people in the Prince George area, given their vital place within the gateway to British Columbia's north," Nash said, in a press release.
In her recently released environmental policy, Nash suggests it is not only possible to build a strong economy while protecting the environment, but that it is essential.
"The Harper Conservatives are failing the local environment and communities by pushing so aggressively on resource extraction," said the current Finance critic.
Nash's fellow candidates Nathan Cullen, Martin Singh, Thomas Mulcair have already made stops in the city. The other candidates looking to replace the late Jack Layton as the leader of the Official Opposition are Brian Topp, Niki Ashton and Paul Dewar.
The deadline for solidifying B.C. party members was Saturday, with the leadership convention taking place in Toronto on March 23 and 24.
