Names released of two killed in collision near Tete Jaune Cache

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man and a woman who died in a motor vehicle related incident near Tete Jaune Cache on Wednesday. They are Karmen Anne McGee, 25, of New Westminster, and Bruce Donald Sykes, 64, of Vernon.

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man and a woman who died in a motor vehicle related incident near Tete Jaune Cache on Wednesday.

They are Karmen Anne McGee, 25, of New Westminster, and Bruce Donald Sykes, 64, of Vernon.

At about 8:30 a.m. McGee was driving an sport utility vehicle southbound on Highway 16 when, about four kilometres east of Tete Jaune Cache, her vehicle collided with a loaded northbound tractor-trailer unit driven by Sykes. Both were deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service, WorkSafeBC, Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement, and RCMP continue to investigate this incident.
