Name of missing swimmer released

Prince George RCMP released the name Monday of the teen reported missing while swimming in the Fraser River late last week.

The Prince George Search and Rescue Society helped search for the missing teen over the weekend, whose name, William Quail, was released Monday.

Prince George RCMP released the name Monday of the teen reported missing while swimming in the Fraser River late last week.

William Quail, 15, is described as Caucasian, 156 cm (5'5") tall, weighing 54 kg (120 lbs) and with short blonde hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, gold and black DC running shoes and a black t-shirt.

A search for Quail was called off on Sunday at noon, about a day-and-a-half after RCMP received a report he had gone under while swimming with a friend in the Fraser River near the Hudson's Bay Wetland Nature Park (formerly the Hudson's Bay Slough).

The RCMP are asking for assistance from the public. Anyone who may have seen Quail near the Hudson's Bay Wetland Nature Park or Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park on Friday afternoon and have any information or may have witnessed these boys prior to the incident, is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
