Prince George RCMP have identified the victim of Friday's fatal stabbing as 39-year-old Tyrone Myles Thomas.
RCMP declined to provide Thomas' place of residence.
A man was arrested in relation to the incident, which occurred at about 3 a.m. in front of the 7-11 convenience store on 20th Avenue near Victoria Street, but later released without charges, police added in a statement issued Saturday.
An investigation is continuing and anyone with information or who may have witnessed the the incident is asked to call RCMP at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
