Mr. PG turning blue for the Girl Guides

Mr. PG will be lit up in blue February 22 as one of more than 100 landmarks across the province help celebrate the Girl Guides of Canada.
Guiding Lights Across BC
Mr. PG is part of the Guiding Lights Across BC event Feb. 22 to celebrate the Girl Guides of Canada sisterhood.

Mr. PG will be lit up in blue on Feb. 22 as one of more than 100 landmarks across the province that will help celebrate the Girl Guides of Canada's sisterhood.

Other landmarks that will be lit up include BC Place, the Olympic Cauldron, Sparwood's Titan Truck, Science World and the Legislative Assembly of B.C.

This is the second-annual celebration of Guiding Lights Across BC, an opportunity created in February 2021 to provide a safe activity for girls to stay connected and celebrate together during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Guiding members will again be making blue lanterns, creating special crafts, going on lit-up neighbourhood walks, and enjoying other safe activities next week. The public is also invited to ‘shine your Guiding light’ by lighting their homes in blue.

Every year on February 22, Girl Guides celebrate World Thinking Day, a day of international friendship. It is an opportunity to increase public awareness on issues affecting girls and young women, as well as celebrate the founding of Girl Guides and foster connections between the 10 million Guiding members around the world.
