If you've ever been to, or through, Prince George, you know the guy.

Mr. PG is a gigantic, wooden-looking statue that towers over the landscape as you drive into town, and today (May 8), the mascot turns 60 years old.

There have been countless variations of him over the years, one being a stout, metal statue that was kidnapped by a Rotary Club member and went on a 10-year-long world tour before returning home.

In this episode of our BC Was Awesome history show, we tell that bizarre story.
