The move into the Prince George RCMP's new home has been delayed a month.

Expected to be ready for occupancy by the end of this month, a new move-in date has been set for Feb. 28-March 2, Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass confirmed Thursday.

The date was moved back, Douglass said, after building inspectors were unable to approve "substantial completion" over the Christmas break.

Located between Fourth and Fifth Avenues on Victoria Street, the $38.95-million, 63,636-square-foot detachment will replace the Prince George RCMP's current home at 10th and Brunswick. That building contains 32,776 square feet and was built in 1972.
