Several Queen's Diamond Jubilee medals were presented during the North District RCMP awards ceremony on Wednesday.
They went to seven regular nembers, two retired members and a community safety officer.
The recipients are Insp. Chris Bomford (retired); Insp. Keith Redl (retired); Staff Sgt. Jeff McArthur; Sgt. Holly Lavin; Sgt. Todd Gray; Cpl. Claudette Garcia; Cpl. Carl Johnston; Cpl. Craig Douglass; Cst. Debra Medcke and Special Cst. Davy Greenlees.
The medals were awarded by the Commanding Officer of the B.C RCMP, Deputy Commissioner Craig Callens, during a ceremony in front of friends and family in Prince George and in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the throne.
"I am very proud of these officers and their accomplishments that led them to being selected to receive the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal. Throughout the rest of their life, this medal will be a reminder of their outstanding contributions to our country," said Prince George RCMP Supt. Eric Stubbs.
