The Mountie who shot and killed a suspected thief in Vanderhoof five-and-a-half years is now facing an assault charge stemming from an off-duty incident outside a Kamloops bar.
Now a member of the Kamloops RCMP, Cst. Ryan Sheremetta is accused of punching another man outside a nightspot in that city on March 27 and will make his first appearance in Kamloops provincial court on July 29.
