The motorcyclist at the centre of a collision that slowed traffic on Highway 16 on Wednesday morning was issued a ticket for driving without due care and attention.
The move was made in response to several phone calls police received from the public about the rider's behaviour before the crash, Prince George RCMP said.
The ticket carries a $368 fine.
The 36-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he ran into the back of a pickup truck that had stopped for a red light while coming down Peden Hill.
"The RCMP would like to thank those members of the public that stopped to assist with medical care until help arrived," police said.
