A Prince George man now faces additional charges from a stolen truck incident that ended with a pickup in a ditch and a pursuing police vehicle following close behind.
Originally charged with two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of a break-in instrument, Jonathan Kyle Relkey, 22, now also faces counts of theft of a motor vehicle, break and enter and committing an indictable offence, theft over $5,000, dangerous driving, flight from police, driving while disqualified, possession of a controlled substance and a second count of possession of a break-in instrument.
The charges stem from an Oct. 27-28 incident in which police said two pickup trucks were stolen from separate locations and then spotted being driven along Highway 16 from Isle Pierre. While one of the drivers evaded police another missed a corner at Marleau Road and slid into the ditch and the pursuing police vehicle slid into the pickup.
Chad Patrick Poitras, 27, also faces charges of theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property from the incident.
Both are next scheduled to appear in court on their respective charges in mid-January.
