Prince George RCMP are hosting more bike registration events this week.
Officers will be at Canadian Tire in College Heights this evening, 5-7 p.m., then at Otway on Wednesday, 5-7 p.m., Piherny parking lot on Sunday, noon-5 p.m. and Hart Drugs-Home Hardware next Monday, 5-8 p.m.
Bikes will be registered through the 529 Garage, an online program that helps RCMP and fellow cyclists recover stolen bikes.
The registration process takes about five minutes and includes essential information: the ownership details, serial number and photos of the bicycle.
In the event of a theft, the information can easily be distributed to other registered riders through an alert feature on the smart phone app. The information can also be easily provided to both the police and insurance companies.
