Modest increases predicted for real estate

The B.C. Real Estate Association is predicting modest increases in the price of single-family homes sold in northern B.C. over the next two years.

The B.C. Real Estate Association is predicting modest increases in the price of single-family homes sold in northern B.C. over the next two years.

In a prediction issued Friday, BCREA is expecting a two-per-cent increase, from $211,805 to $216,000 over 2010 and a further three-per-cent increase, to $232,000, over 2011.

Sales volume, meanwhile, is expected to rise eight per cent, from 3,618 to 3,900 in 2010 and a further three per cent, to 4,000 in 2011.
