Missing Quesnel man's remains found on Fraser River shoreline within city limits

A man who was last seen on Dec. 30, 2019 has been found dead,

Quesnel RCMP say they received a report on Feb. 25, 2020, from a man hiking on the shore of the Fraser River that they had found human remains. 

Operations Support NCO Sgt. Richard Weseen says with the assistance of the RCMP Forensic Identification Section and BC Coroners Service, the body was identified as 25-year-old Darryl Leblanc Jr. 

Leblanc was last seen on Dec. 30, 2019.

His father officially reported him missing on Jan. 24, 2020. 

"The Quesnel RCMP would like to thank the public for the tips provided to the investigators during this investigation," Weseen says.

"Thoughts and prayers go out to Darryl’s family and friends."
