Raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour will be a topic when the North Central Labour Council hosts an event Monday to mark Labour Day.
It will be held at Veteran's Plaza in front of city hall from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It will be begin with a march through downtown and be followed a noon with speakers, food, entertainment, booths and games.
B.C. Federation of Labour Secretary-Treasurer Aaron Ekman will deliver a speech renewing the organization's commitment to winning from the provincial government an increase in the minimum wage, which it says will lift 500,000 B.C. workers out of poverty.
