Minimal damage after construction site blaze

A construction site was the scene of the local fire department's second major call of the day. Shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday afternoon, 17 firefighters from three halls responded to a structure fire in the 1600 block of Seventh Avenue.

Shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday afternoon, 17 firefighters from three halls responded to a structure fire in the 1600 block of Seventh Avenue.

According to Prince George Fire Rescue, the blaze appears to have started on the second floor of the under-construction apartment building, causing minimal damage.

No injuries were reported from the site, which was vacant at the time. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
