Canfor Corp. announced Monday it will be re-opening its Quesnel sawmill in June to exclusively service markets in China, a move that will put 155 workers back on the job. Traditionally, sawmills in north-central B.C.

Canfor Corp. announced Monday it will be re-opening its Quesnel sawmill in June to exclusively service markets in China, a move that will put 155 workers back on the job.

Traditionally, sawmills in north-central B.C. have been focused on selling lumber to the United States, and, to some extent, to Japan. But British Columbia lumber shipments to China has been increasing steadily over the past several years, more than doubling in 2009 over the previous year to 1.63 billion board feet.
