City of Prince George planning and development director Dan Milburn is moving on to the private sector.
Milburn will be joining the consulting firm founded by former City Hall colleague Bob Radloff, R. Radloff and Associates, on April 2. Milburn has held the position of director of planning and development officially since August, but served as acting director since March of 2011 when former director Grant Bain left the position.
"The opportunities are tremendous in the North right now," Milburn said. "This was the right move professionally and for my family. It also gives me the ability to stay in Prince George, a community that I love."
Milburn said he had done consulting work before his 11-year stint with the city as a planner, manager of current planning and manager of long-range planning.
"I'll still be advocating for good planning in the North," Milburn said.
No decision has been made on who, if anyone, will fill the position.
In January, city council announced the elimination of 28 positions and laid off nine staff as part of $1.99 million in budget cuts. Ten of the 18 positions eliminated were management positions.
A city spokesperson was unavailable for comment as of press time.
