Former University of Northern British Columbia professor and chancellor Alex Michalos was presented in Ottawa on Friday with an Order of Canada medal by Governor General David Johnston.
Michalos was made a member of the order for "his contributions to the social sciences, notably in research that has helped to measure quality-of-life in Canada and abroad," the Governor General's office stated.
