Every year hundreds of Prince George residents anticipate the annual borscht, summer sausage bunwich, and home made pie they'll have for lunch during the annual Mennonite Fall Fair at the Civic Centre.
But few realize the effort that goes into making 90 gallons of the soup to meet the demand.
Carolyn Missiuna, the "maker of the soup" needs at least six assistants who begin preparation early on Friday morning to be ready for Saturday's big sale that can attract up to 10,000 people.
The no-admission sale on Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. uses most of the space at the Civic Centre including the foyer.
