Prince George Fire Rescue crews quickly doused a fire that erupted in a mattress in the basement bedroom of a 1900-block Redwood Street home early Saturday morning.
Firefighters from three halls were called to the scene at about 6:30 a.m. and found light smoke coming from a basement window.
The damage was minimal, the home was vacant and there were no injuries.
