Two months after his body was found, the death of Ian Matthew Begg remains a mystery and the Prince George RCMP are asking for the public's help in solving the case.
"We are confident that someone out there has information that will further this investigation," Sgt. Todd Wilson of the detachment's serious crime unit said in a press release issued Wednesday.
"We want to see the person or persons responsible brought to justice so that Ian's family can begin to heal."
A deceased Begg, who was 35 years old and left behind two daughters, was found near the south end of Haldi Lake Road on Aug. 23 at about 8:40 a.m. Police suspect the death was a homicide.
Begg is described as Caucasian, five-foot-ten-inches, 212 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
According to court records at the time, a warrant had been issued for Begg's arrest after he failed to appear in Prince George provincial court on July 8 for a first appearance on six charges from an April 5 incident.
The charges included dangerous driving, refusal to provide a breath sample, driving without a licence and willfully resisting a peace officer.
Those charges have since been abated.
