Manhunt target gets 1,020 days in jail

A Prince George man who was at the centre of a police manhunt in late November has been sentenced to nearly three years behind bars.

Christopher Ross Blaney, 31, was sentenced to a total of 1,020 days - or 34 months - in jail in Prince George provincial court on Friday.

The sentence consists of 650 and 360 days for two counts of intimidation of the justice system, related to an Aug. 1, 2013 incident, and to 30 days for willfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer from the Nov. 29, 2013 manhunt, all to be served consecutively.

Blaney was also ordered to serve behind bars the remainder of a three-month conditional sentence he received Sept. 18 for two counts of possession or use of stolen credit card and one count of theft $5,000 or under, also from an Aug. 1, 2013 incident.

Blaney has been in custody since Dec. 16, 2013 when he when he was arrested roughly two weeks after attempts to apprehend him at two different homes in Prince George were unsuccessful.
