A Prince George man was sentenced Friday to 9 3/4 months in jail for convictions related to what police have called a violent home invasion.
Ivan Christopher Skin, 26, was issued the term in Prince George provincial court for possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and break and enter to commit an offence.
He must also serve 18 months probation and was issued a 10-year firearms prohibition and assessed $400 in victim surcharge for the May 7, 2015 incident at a 2400-block Oak St. home.
One of the home's occupants was taken to hospital with serious injuries, RCMP said at the time.
Skin was arrested later the same day and has remained in custody ever since.
In August 2015, the other person arrested following the incident, Ann Brittany Tom, 27, was sentenced to a six-month conditional sentence and to one year probation for being unlawfully in dwelling-house. A conditional sentence is served in the community with restrictions,
In October 2015, the conditional sentence was suspended and Tom was sentenced to 26 days in jail. And in December 2015, the sentence was suspended again and Tom was ordered to serve the remainder of the term behind bars.
When they were first arrested, Skin and Tom were also charged with one count each of aggravated assault, but the counts were later stayed.
