Man sentenced for waving fake gun

A Prince George man has been sentenced to a four-month conditional sentence and 18 months probation for brandishing a replica gun outside a downtown hotel.

A Prince George man has been sentenced to a four-month conditional sentence and 18 months probation for brandishing a replica gun outside a downtown hotel.

John Charles Andrew, 67, was issued the term Monday in Prince George provincial court for one count each of carrying a concealed weapon and He was also ordered to pay a $200 victim fine surcharge.

Andrew turned himself in to Prince George RCMP a few days after the Nov. 28, 2013 incident in front of the Coast Inn of the North.

Police were called to a report of a man pulling what appeared to be a black handgun out of his waistband and waiving it at two men and a women who were waiting outside the hotel, and then placing it back in his waistband and continuing along the sidewalk.
