Man pleads guilty to second degree murder of Prince George woman

Dennis Daniel Gladue to be sentenced for death of Christin Marion West

A man faces sentencing after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the death of a local woman.

Dennis Daniel Gladue has entered the plea the death of Christin Marion West, a B.C. Prosecution Service spokesperson confirmed Thursday.

West's body was found in her home, a unit in an apartment building in the 2000 block of 20th Avenue, on Aug. 7, 2021 after her family reported her missing to police. Shortly after, Gladue was arrested and has remained in custody since then.

Second-degree murder implies the act was committed without planning and carries a minimum sentence of life in prison with no parole for 10 years but can go as high as 25 years with no parole.

A sentencing hearing for Gladue, who was 36 years at the time of the incident, is scheduled for May 30-31 at the Prince George courthouse.

West was 35 years old at the time of her death.
