A Nadleh man has pleaded guilty the manslaughter in relation to the 2013 death of a woman on the reserve near Fort Fraser.
Garrett Steven George, 27, entered the plea Monday during a voir dire hearing in B.C. Supreme Court in Prince George. He had been facing a charge of second-degree murder in the death of Destiny Rae Tom, 21.
Tom's badly-beaten body was found outside a home on the reserve during the early morning of March 23, 2013.
A man known to Tom was subsequently arrested but later released without charges and, about three weeks after the incident, her family issued an emotional plea for the public's help to track down her killer.
The mother of a three-year-old girl, Tom was described as "beautiful, caring, and loving person."
George was arrested and charged in February 2015. Tom and George were known to each other.
A date for sentencing George has not yet been set.
