Jereme Kyle Kozak, 25, pleaded guilty Tuesday to accessing and possessing child pornography during a brief appearance in Prince George provincial court.
A forensic psychiatric report with a risk assessment was subsequently ordered for Kozak and it will be at least two-and-a-half months before sentencing.
Kozak was arrested May 7 when Prince George RCMP executed a search warrant on a 400-block Voyageur Drive home.
Police said he was actively downloading child pornography as they arrived at the home.
A computer and other evidence was seized.
Kozak has since been released on conditions that include no contact with children 16 years old or under, unless supervised, to stay away from parks, pools, school grounds, day care centres and other places where minors may be present and no Internet access.
Kozak had recently moved from Quesnel to Prince George when he was arrested.
