David Larry Wiebe, 55, pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon Monday, putting an end to a B.C. Supreme Court trial on the matter on the day it was scheduled to start.
The acts involved a ruler and a wooden spoon, the court heard. The victim was once a stepson of Wiebe's.
A fix date hearing for sentencing was scheduled for Jan. 13, 2014 and Wiebe is looking at one year in jail, the court was told.
