Matters in Prince George for an Alberta man arrested earlier this year came to an end on Wednesday.

David Allan Lenkewich, 29, who had been in custody since he was arrested Feb. 16, was ordered in Prince George provincial court to pay $600 in victim surcharges for two counts of possession of stolen property and willfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer.

Lenkewich and Nashae Nickole Sowan, 29, were apprehended when police and the Ministry of Transportation's commercial vehicle safety enforcement branch were conducting a road safety check on Highway 16 East.

They were found driving a Ford F350 pickup truck pulling a cargo trailer, both reported stolen out of Alberta, according to RCMP.

Lenkewich was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant in relation to the dangerous driving and numerous other charges stemming from an incident in Strathcona, Alberta.

Sowan was sentenced in March to 57 days in jail for possession of stolen property and to 45 days for possession of a controlled substance and to one year probation on both charges.
