One man is dead following a single-vehicle crash north of the city.
According to the RCMP, a tractor trailer unit went off the road around 1:15 p.m. on Highway 97 near Barney Road - about 30 minutes out of Prince George, near Summit Lake.
Police said the male driver was found dead at the scene. An RCMP collision reconstructionist and the B.C. Coroners Service have been called to the scene.
The highway was briefly closed but is now open to single-lane alternating traffic and is expected to remain that way into the evening.
